Mike and Jo got married in November 2019 at the fabulous Colwick Hall in Nottingham. I loved everything about their day, as they have a little girl it made things extra special for me as she played such a big part in the day. These two are an absolutely hilarious couple who just make people feel good by being around them and it was so great to see how loved they were by their family and friends.
Although I’m a wedding photographer primarily based in Kent, I often shoot weddings in Nottingham as its where I grew up.

About Colwick Hall
Colwick Hall is just one of those venues you can’t not love. It has so many lovely spaces for guests to mingle, a beautiful ceremony room and loads of great spots around the venue for couple shots and family portraits. It was a pretty chilly winter wedding so we stayed inside for most of the day which worked really well as everyone was having a laugh and talking to new and old friends and loved ones. In the morning, Jo got ready for her bridesmaid in the lovely bridal suite and we were also joined by her baby daughter which led to some lovely moments.

The ceremony itself was brilliant and full of love, some really special speeches. I especially loved seeing Jo & Mike’s daughter walk do the aisle!
After the ceremony, the reception kicked off with some fun portraits and group photos followed by a drink reception. There were hugs, laughter, and canapes and we even managed to get everyone outside for a group photo!

After the wedding breakfast and speeches, the guests gathered back into the bar area where a photo booth had been set up! This was loved by kids and adults alike and was a lot of fun. It was then time for the first dance but first, the lovely couple were treated to an acoustic performance of one of their favourite songs and it was a total surprise st up by a guest!
