Cooling Castle is located in the countryside just outside of Rochester, Kent and its the perfect wedding venue for every bride and groom looking to get married and have their own unique and special day. Whether it be a formal or quirky wedding there is something for everyone.
Cooling Castle Barn are absolute veterans in the Kent wedding industry and host over 300 weddings a year. The venue only hosts weddings and the staff are incredible and their jobs. With so many locations and options for your ceremony and wedding reception, every wedding is unique and there are many beautiful backdrops for your wedding photos.

Getting Ready at Cooling Castle
Brides and grooms an their wedding guests can all get ready for their weddings at cooling castle itself. There is a beautiful building called the moat house that has been designed for the wedding party to get ready in before the ceremony. Brides can relax here with their bridesmaids and family, with their wedding dresses hung up and a perfect spot for their hair and makeup to be done. The room has beautiful natural lighting make it great for wedding photos. As Cooling castle only has one wedding a day the wedding party has a very peaceful morning wait for wedding guests to arrive. Before the ceremony guests can have refreshments in the heritage barn also before being announced in to the ceremony by the toastmaster.
The Wedding ceremony
There are a couple of ceremony locations for couples to choose from. In the summer months, the bride and group can have their ceremony out in the gardens underneath the pavilion which is a joy for photographers to capture. Alternatively there is Fathom Barn, a rustic indoor space with room for all your wedding guests. There is a lovely staircase for the bridal party to walk down before walking down the aisle. Finally, Cooling castle is located near a church if you would like a church ceremony.
Wedding Photography at cooling castle
Wedding photographers are spoilt for choice at cooling castle. The gardens are beautiful year round and make for a great location for guests to enjoy the sun whilst getting some great photographs. Wedding portraits with the bride and groom can be taken all around the venue but one popular spot is the castle gatehouse at the front featuring two large turrets. Fun fact, Jools Holland actually lives here! During the wetter months, photos can still easily take place inside one of the many picturesque barns.
The Wedding reception
After the drinks reception, guests can head in wedding party can head into tithe barn where they will receive a lovely meal from the resident catering staff. This is normally where speeches will take place. In the evening the barn is turned into a party space where cooling castle’s DJ will play some amazing music as your guests dance the night away!
