Old Vicarage Boutique Hotel Wedding Photographer
Lauren & Jarred
The amazing Lauren and Jarred were married at the start of 2019 and I couldn’t have been more pleased to be their wedding photographer for their gorgeous winter wedding at the Old Vicarage Boutique Hotel.
This beautiful wedding venue is located in the heart of Southwell in Nottinghamshire. Although I now live in Kent, Nottingham is where I’m originally from, I still shoot many weddings in the East Midlands and its always a pleasure to come back.
Below I have put some of my favourite photos from the special day, as well as why I love taking photos at The Old Vicarage. If you’ve landed on this page because you’re getting married and looking for an Old Vicarage Wedding Photographer then welcome! Please feel free to have a look around my site, you can view my pricing or portfolio if you would and if you’d like to check availability and find out more please do so through my contact page.
About The Old Vicarage.
The Old Vicarage is a stunning wedding venue perfect for those looking for an intimate location to spend their special day. Every room is beautifully decorated and even as the wedding photographer I was amazed at how many fantastic locations it had for your photographs.
The Old Vicarage is a family run wedding venue and is award-winning and the staff are top class. Throughout the day the wedding planner was brilliant at looking after the couple and their guests and were also very helpful to me.
Getting Ready at The Old Vicarage
On this particular wedding, the beautiful bride Lauren got ready half at home and then got into her wedding dress at the venue itself. I thought this was a great idea and it was special to get some photos of the morning at home. Lauren was accompanied by the three bridesmaids who also looked amazing. Everyone had a great time enjoying getting their hair and makeup done as well as enjoying the laughter and fun of the morning. Lauren’s mum helped her into her wedding dress which was also a special moment
Ceremony at The Old Vicarage
when it comes to the ceremony, couples have a choice of where to conduct their ‘I-Do’s’, and indoor and an outdoor option. During the warmer and drier weddings, couples can get married outside in the bandstand which sits in the hotel gardens. As this was a winter wedding Lauren and Jarred were married inside in the main room that had been exquisitely decorated. The ceremony was just perfect and full of emotion. You can see more of the wedding ceremony in the photos below.
Wedding Photography at The Old Vicarage
It’s an absolute pleasure to be an Old Vicarage Wedding Photographer and I’m so glad the bride and groom had picked me to capture their special day. As well as capturing all the storytelling moments from the day, I also like to use my camera to capture some traditional family photos and some creative wedding portraits which is exactly what I did for this wedding. All around the wedding venue, there are many fantastic backdrops that any wedding photographer would enjoy. I timed the couple photos so that we were shooting during the golden hour just before sunset. I remember it being incredibly cold but you’d never know for the photos! Lauren and jarred were great sports and were super up for embracing the cold to get some pictures of just the two of them.
Reception at the wedding venue
During the cocktail hour whilst photos were being taken the main room had been transformed ready for the speeches and the wedding breakfast. The speeches were full of laughter and touching moments which were a joy to photograph. After the speeches and meal were done the wedding party wasted no time in hitting the dancefloor. A photo booth was set up for guests to capture some fun pics the happy couple danced the night away to some amazing music and a few shots of tequila!
